Edeiken was graduated from University of Pennsylvania
medical school and studied opera at the Curtis Institute
of Music. She sang at public events and on the radio.

In the early days of the 21st century, Joey Edeiken
Marson - great-grandson of Nettie Edeiken - continues
the musical tradition with a bluesy guitar version.
